About PEEP

Duration: 1 hour weekly sessions. Programmes are 6 weeks.

Delivery: Available in-person and online.

The Peep Learning Together Programme (LTP) helps parents, carers and practitioners make the most of the learning opportunities in everyday life, supporting your babies' and young childrens' learning through play

The PEEP Programme covers five strands of child development:

  • personal, social and emotional development

  • communication and language

  • early literacy

  • early maths

  • health and physical development

In Peep groups, practitioners and families share ideas and simple, low-cost activities that support your child’s learning in everyday life - talking, singing, sharing books and playing together. They're also a great way to get to know other families.

As a parent or carer, your baby or child will already be learning so much from you, as you chat, play, sing, cuddle, and do all your usual day-to-day activities. Research shows that these things that you do together have a big impact on how children's brains develop in these early years, and on how they get on at school and in later life.

This year Family Hubs will bring these PEEP sessions to Families living in Northumberland:

  • PEEP Babies (0 - 12 months)

  • PEEP Toddlers (1 - 2 years)

  • PEEP Pre-schoolers (2 - 4 years)
