About Antenatal Workshops

​Bumps to Babies

What is it? 

4 week workshops offering information, confidence-building and peer support around becoming a parent, birth and labour, early baby care, infant feeding, and finishing with a celebratory baby and you session once babies arrive.

 

These workshops are a time for you to meet other parents and share knowledge and experiences while gaining up to date information for when your baby arrives. 

Who is this for? 
These workshops are for all expectant parents and carers. You are welcome to attend at any point during your pregnancy and return once your baby is here. 

Where and when? 

Workshops are available in Family Hubs and online. Sessions are friendly, relaxed and free to attend. To find out when the next workshop is running, call your local Family Hub or complete a referral form.

Come along to our Becoming a Parent workshop and meet other expectant parents and carers.

 

This relaxed and friendly session where you can find out more about what to expect during your pregnancy and feel prepared for the journey of parenthood.

Caring for your Baby

Join our Caring for Your Baby workshop and meet other expectant parents.

 

This relaxed and friendly group will look at what the early days with your baby will look like. The early days with your baby are an important and exciting time. We can share and talk about things such as bathing your baby and sharing our knowledge and experiences.

Infant Feeding

Our infant feeding workshop is available for expectant parents and carers. In this session you will learn all about infant feeding from the infant feeding team. There will be opportunities to ask questions and share ideas to enable you to plan and prepare for your babies' arrival.

Baby and You

Come along to our Baby and You workshop. This is for new parents to attend with their new babies. You will meet other parents and carers and find out more about what support is available and what groups you can go to. There will be some lovely activities for you and your baby to do together.

Build a Brain

This engaging workshop supports parents and carers to understand how babies’ brains grow and develop during the early years. It explores how everyday interactions such as talking, playing, singing, and responding to cues, help build strong neural connections and support emotional and cognitive development.

Weaning Foods for Life

This supportive weaning group is designed for parents, carers, and babies who are beginning their journey into solid foods. The sessions provide practical guidance on when and how to introduce weaning safely, exploring a range of approaches including purées and baby-led weaning.

Strong Beginnings

This is a free 6 week program to promote healthy balance, confident parenting and a balanced lifestyle for you and your family. Come along to the informal interactive sessions where you will receive guidance, activities and practical tools to support and changes or goals you chose to make to support strong beginnings for your child.

Understanding Children's Behaviour

This is a one-off session to understand how a child’s developmental stage influences behaviour and to recognise how adults can help children begin to understand and regulate their own behaviour.

Fussy Eating - Exploring Food

Led by experienced practitioners, the session provides helpful tips on introducing new foods, creating positive mealtime routines, and reducing stress around eating. It also focuses on building children’s confidence with food, supporting independence, and responding to behaviours in a calm and consistent way.

Toilet Training Workshop

This practical and supportive workshop is designed to help parents and carers feel confident when beginning the toilet training journey. It explores signs of readiness, when to start, and how to approach toilet training in a positive and child-led way.

An interactive workshop promoting good oral health for families. Covering simple daily routines like brushing teeth, healthy eating, and preventing tooth decay, helping families build lifelong dental habits.
